Chervon Trading Co was founded in 1993. It specialises in researching, developing, manufacturing, testing, sales and after‐sale services for cordless power tools, outdoor power equipment and related product categories.

The EGO Power Plus Self Propelled Lawn Mower is the industry’s first cordless, rechargeable and self-propelled lawn mower. Built on the proven design and features of the EGO 56V Power Plus ARC Lithium platform, the new self-propelled model is a powerful and innovative alternative to traditional combustion engine self-propelled units. It offers the torque of petrol without the noise, fuss and fumes. Powered by the industry’s highest capacity and most advanced battery, it offers industry leading run time, rapid recharge times, power and performance.

The EGO Power Plus Self Propelled Lawn Mower also has many other appealing qualities. These include the mower having an intelligent integrated load sensor, a six position spring loaded deck-height adjustment, electric brake safety, a 70-litre catcher bag and the mower having a compact foldable design that supports vertical storage. The battery also has interchangeability within the EGO Power Plus System and the mower does not require regular oil, filter or spark plug replacement. The mower is suitable for both domestic and commercial use, whilst being suitable for mowing at any time. The mower is rated at 75 weighted decibels allowing it to be precluded from usual council restrictions. This paired with the LED headlights, enables users to mow in low light conditions.

Based on a close evaluation of the current local self-propelled market landscape, the product will be positioned as a medium price pointed product, to ensure that consumers include it during their decision making process. Customers with larger blocks, elderly users and commercial users are just some of the consumers that benefit from lawn mowers which feature integrated self-propulsion systems. These products help to reduce operator fatigue, as the units effectively push themselves up slopes, through weeds and/or thick grass, making mowing easier for the user.

The EGO Self Propelled Lawn Mower will be launching in the Australian market during August 2016. Chervon Australia is being recognised for a New Product Innovation award for this product in the Australian Business Awards 2016.

Entries are assessed utilising a robust and dynamic framework to ensure that the assessment process is pertinent and objective. The World Business Awards Framework (WBA Framework) is utilised as a structured model of assessment that enables the participating organisations to be benchmarked against world class performance standards. The Framework consists of specialised assessment modules pertaining to the evaluation criteria for each of the award categories.
